Apple Blossom

April 28th - 21st, 2017

The fun keeps popping all month long. If spring has sprung and your medicine cabinet is chockablock with a seasons’ supply of anti-histamines, it must be time for the Blossom Festival. For three consecutive weekends from Arbor Day to Mother’s Day, Nebraska City becomes the place to be for fun worth returning for.

Nebraska City may not be a big town, but its beauty does stretch wide. Wide enough, in fact, that driving amongst the blossoms, birds and other points of interest not built into your GPS is a delightful way to spend an afternoon. Here are a few highlights: For blossoms, head to Arbor Lodge, Arbor Day Farm, Kimmel Orchard and Union Orchard. Allergy medication not included. Over 300 varieties of lilacs can be found at Arbor Lodge. Don’t worry, there won’t be a quiz. Birdwatchers will have the best luck spotting many of the 89 species that stop by in April at Wildwood Historic Center, Lewis & Clark MRB Visitors Center and Arbor Day Farm. We apologize in advance if you get the urge to buy a convertible.
