Did you know Nebraska faced an abnormally dry year in 2017? Water is essential to all life, and conserving it is just as important. Join Common Ground and Dr. Gary Lesoing in a public presentation and conversation about local water conservation issues, such as water quality and supply. Dr. Gary Lesoing has served in Extension for the past 19 years, first as a Regional Agronomy Specialist for the University of Missouri-Columbia for 6 years and the past 13 years as an Extension Educator with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension in southeast Nebraska, with a focus on crop production and sustainable agriculture. Dr. Lesoing will talk about the challenges Nebraska faces in light of climate change and variable water availability, including supplying potable water to its residents and conserving water for future generations. Attendees will also learn about educational programs regarding water made available by UNL.
This event is open to the public and sponsored by Common Ground, a Nebraska Conservation Education Fund AmeriCorps program. For more information contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
