Morton-James Public Library Children’s Easter Activities

April 19 @ 4:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Celebrate Easter with coloring, plastic egg craft and Easter Stories. Children of all ages and families welcome. This event will be held in our temporary location at American National Bank 920 Central Avenue basement level.

Learning Series: Honey Bee Plants

April 20 @ 9:30 am - 11:30 am

This event will teach beekeepers about different honey bee plants to use in both home landscapes and around properties. We will be installing a pollinator garden at Kimmel Orchard and discussing the structure, layout, and species in the plantings and their role in the larger ecosystem of home landscapes. Easter Egg Hunt

The Nebraska City Jaycees and Optimist Club are teaming together to host the Easter Egg Hunt April 20 10am at the Steinhart Park Ball Fields. Ages 0-2 begin at 10am, with ages 3-4, 5-6, and 7-8 to follow.  There will be prize eggs for each age group.

York College Traveling Children’s Theatre Presents: The New Clothes King and the Bandit Queen

Dr. Jason Heppler, Digital Engagement Librarian in Archives and Special Collections for UNO Libraries, will be in Nebraska City on Monday, April 22, to kick off Preservation Week 2019. He oversees the “Mobile Digitization for Rural Community Archives” project, an initiative offered by UNO to rural communities. This pilot project includes a mobile digitization lab supported by the Catalyst Fund. UNO staff will also be available on Tuesday, April 23. UNO staff will be in Nebraska City on Tuesday, April 23 with the digitization lab. They will have scanners and digital cameras to take images of documents and objects you would like to have in a digital format. We invite you to bring your items and a flash drive or CD on which to save your information. This will be a great opportunity to learn more about digitizing (and preserving) materials from experts!
