It’s that time of year again! Don’t miss out on the first of three programs in the 2017 Fall Speaker Series, hosted by the Kregel Windmill Factory Museum. As we continue to celebrate the state’s sesquicentennial, this year’s programs will focus on the history and rich heritage of Nebraska. Kicking off our 4th annual Fall Speaker Series is a presentation entitled “Nebraska through Song and Story” by Dr. Dan Holtz, Emeritus Professor of English at Peru State College.
This program interweaves songs, accompanied on guitar and harmonica, with excerpts from works by Willa Cather, John Neihardt, Mari Sandoz and Bess Streeter Aldrich. In a narrative from about 1850 to 1904, it tells the stories of the people who came to and through early Nebraska, the pioneers who crossed the overland trails, the settlers and the Native Americans.
We hope that you can join us for this great program during the Saturday evening of the Applejack Festival on September 16th at 7:00pm. As always, Kregel Windmill Factory Museum events are FREE to the public and fit for all ages unless otherwise noted.
