CREATE SOMETHING NEW AND DIFFERENT EVERY LIBRARY VISIT!
The Morton-James Public Library is pleased to announce its latest exhibit, Omaha Children’s Museum’s BLOCK PARTY, is running September 12 through December 30, 2018.
Morton-James Public Library and Nebraska City Tourism and Commerce will co-host an opening reception from 4-6 pm. on September 12 in the Kimmel Gallery. Admission is free and open to the public.
Not only is playing with blocks fun; block play helps children of all ages learn and develop important skills needed as they grow. Through blocks, they learn everything from counting and matching to how to share and communicate with friends. With OCM’s Block Party, sponsored by FatBrain Toys, blocks are used to build on important STEAM concepts.
Create something new during every visit to the Library! There are vertical Lego walls, large-scale builder boards, and 8 other building stations allowing for individual creativity and social interactions with other Library visitors. There will be an opportunity to share design projects throughout the exhibit period as well.
The design intention behind this exhibit is to assist in the development of the seven executive brain functions including engaged learning, making connections, and critical thinking.
This exhibit is housed in the Kimmel Gallery and available during regular Library hours, Monday through Thursday 9 am to 6 pm and Friday and Saturday 9 am to 5 pm. MJPL is located at 923 1st Corso, Nebraska City, 68410; 402-873-5609.
