Tribute to America & WWI Veterans at Arbor Lodge Mansion

May 27 - July 4

This year marks the 100th anniversary of America’s entry into World War I. Arbor Lodge will pay tribute by hosting a special display including information on Nebraska City WWI veterans as well as WWI photographs, uniforms, memorabilia, and more.

Nebraska Humanities has announced the two communities to host Chautauqua events in 2017 will be Seward and Nebraska City. The theme of the week-long event on June 19-June 24, 2017 in Nebraska City  will be “World War I: Legacies of a Forgotten War.”  The Chautauqua events will attract hundreds of people from Southeast Nebraska to historic Nebraska City.  The events will be open and free to the public…no admission fees will be charged for any of the events.    …

Celebrating Chautauqua at Arbor Lodge

June 24 - June 25

Circuit Chautauqua first came to Nebraska City in 1907. This year, it returns June 21-24, featuring guest speakers and entertainment at various locations around the community. The theme for this year’s Nebraska Chautauqua is “World War One: Legacies of a Forgotten War.” In addition to the community’s Chautauqua celebration (presented by Humanities Nebraska and the Nebraska City Chautauqua committee), Arbor Lodge will host additional activities including historical displays and entertainment June 24-25.
